John C Thurbin
A fun stop frame animation, documenting the creation of one of John’s self promo posters. Enjoy!
I created all the campaign for the 2010 Grafika Contest. All done with wooden beads from taxi driver seats and with one feather hat I actually bought in Bali!!! Done on some kind of suede, I wanted to show the amount of design work that it represents.. Also this native american look came from the text we came up, which is: Who will be the chief this year? The video for the event was done very quickly but it gave me a chance to experiment a few techniques I had in mind. This was a voluntary work. I did it because of the creative liberty.

My friend Ted and I started a little art project in 2006. The idea was to take a Moleskin Japanese Vertical Book and take turns doing whatever we wanted. No rules. No time limits. Just do what you want and let it go.
I love the book. It’s a precious gem that I love and value, like my friendship with Ted.
